UP HOLLAND PAGEANT: THE FESTIVAL EVENTS

2pm Start of Festival at School Playing Fields
An opening ceremony took place at 2pm, after the procession had arrived. The festivities were formally started by Baroness Ashton of Up Holland. She told everyone that Up Holland had the highest of profiles in the House of Lords every week as her name was mentioned in the records. She also shared the fact that she grew up in Ormskirk and was very proud to be opening this very special celebration.
The festival continued with a hymn sung by the choir and accompanied by Skelmersdale Prize Band.

The Smoothie Girls who kept the refreshments flowing in the school hall Up Holland High School Band in action, conducted by Mr Roberts. They played in the Parish Rooms, entertaining the cafe goers

Also the 1439 Air Cadets Continuity Drill Display Team did several demonstrations during the afternoon.

, Saturday market, crafts, bric-a-brac, fancy goods, toys and books, Traidcraft, Greetings cards, Teddy Tombola, Memorabilia, Nail technicians, knitwear, badges.
OTHER STALLS included:
Refreshments, tea, coffee, cakes, hot dogs, ice cream, smoothies, tuck shop.
